Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED Vs. Samsung The Frame TV

When you turn off your TV , you probably expect the picture to disappear and the screen to go black. However, some new TVs are designed to display more images. When you're not watching TV, these large screens can display images, photos, weather reports, and more.

The most popular of these types of TVs is the Samsung range , which has been around for several years. The latest of these is Amazon's Fire TV Omni QLED , which will launch in the fall of 2022. While they have thousands of museum-quality pieces of art and some differences, they share some similarities. Dive into it.

The Omni QLED Fire TV Omni editions will add QLED displays and other picture quality enhancements. They also have sensors that detect when you're in a room and automatically activate to display art, gadgets, or other content. If this sounds awkward to you, you are not alone.

Samsung's original "art as TV" bezel may look more like a painting than a TV. It offers multiple frame options, and the new 2022 version has a screen designed to reduce glare and create a canvas effect.

Framework. larger sizes, more expensive, non-standard frames

The first thing you'll notice is that their bezels are twice the size of their Omni QLED counterparts. On the other hand, Samsung TVs are available in other sizes ranging from 32 to 85 inches.

Samsung also offers custom bezel bezels starting at $100.

Art on Omni QLED is free, but not framed.

Both TVs allow you to display your digital photos and other personal files on the screen, as well as ambient modes that display the clock, as well as some mood and design screens. But the big feature of each is a unique art mode that displays paintings and other works of art, some of which are in major museums.

  • Samsung Frame QLED TVs have 2,000 pieces of art in the Samsung Art Store, and the subscription costs $5 per month.

Image quality and other properties

Most people don't buy a bezel-less TV as a top priority, but there are still some other similarities and differences to look out for. Both TVs are equipped with Smart TV, Samsung's own system on Fire TV and Omni, and use QLED technology to improve brightness and color. We haven't tested either TV, so we can't say how their picture quality compares, but here are the key differences:

  • The Fire TV Omni features full-range dimming that independently adjusts the brightness of different areas of the screen to improve contrast and HDR. There is no local blur on the frame.
  • The bezel has a matte anti-glare display designed to control glare, and in previous reviews, the Samsung display was very good in this regard.
  • The Fire TV Omni has an occupancy sensor that detects when you're in a room and turns it on automatically. It also has a remote microphone so you can give hands-free voice commands. There is a motion sensor on the frame that can turn off the TV if you move it away, but it only works in Art mode.
  • The frame has a smart wall mount so you can hang it on the wall. The Omni QLED can also be wall-mounted, but you will need to purchase the mount separately.

The Samsung Frame is available now and the Amazon Fire TV Omni will be available in October.
