Samsung Smart Home Review: How I Turned My Basement Into A Fully Connected Home

From washing machines to dryers, from refrigerators to televisions, to robotic vacuums (because a living space would be complete without a robot vacuum these days), an entire space can do so much. I can control my entire house from anywhere (like I did on Thursday night) or I can sink into the couch in a crazy marathon and get important notifications on my Samsung Frame TV in the corner.

Regardless of the situation, this Samsung mobile phone seems to be able to fix anything.

This whole experience changed my perception of the connected family completely. In the early years of our home ownership, I considered a fully connected family an unnecessary luxury, in part because it wasn't easy to let go.

This is especially true in the New York area, where you always buy an old house or apartment. There is often outdated equipment in this space, and spending thousands of dollars to upgrade everything at once isn't always a smart financial move.

So wait until something breaks (like a dishwasher) and then replace it. After a few months the fridge broke and a replacement of a different brand was put up for sale, so I took it. This continues until another segment has LG This, Samsung This and GE This as well as Sony TV. Technically everything "works", so why worry about relative success?

However, I found myself in a different situation late last year when the remnants of Hurricane Ida hit my neighborhood in Westchester, New York. Water flooded four feet (yes, feet) in my basement and instantly destroyed everything inside: the washer, dryer, and refrigerator that came with the house, our movie-quality movie projector, and six sets of LEGO. He hoped to build it (story for another day). Everything had to be restored, so we invested everything in Samsung.

I've been a fan of their products for years, starting with the first plasma TV I bought when I went to the Big Apple, and covering up their Galaxy phones since the first posts. Samsung has always been at the forefront of home connectivity. Half a century ago, it was Samsung that brought the Android operating system to your phone on the big screen with the Dex Station.

If anyone could turn my house into the Jetsons, it would be from Samsung. By mid-2022, it has been fully confirmed.

So I'm officially giving up on Apple laptops.
