Samsung Starts Selling The New Galaxy Watch Charging Cradle

A few weeks ago, a mysterious charger surfaced on Samsung's US official website, which appears to be a wireless charger specifically designed to make up for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro's lack of a strap, but it's in the US not available. Instead, Samsung released the charging station in the UK.

This charger has a raised platform that can hold your Galaxy Watch. Of course, all Galaxy Watch models will charge, not just the recently launched Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. It may also have the ability to wirelessly charge other compatible devices such as wireless headphones. But if anyone needs it, it's Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users. That's because Samsung's latest smartwatch has a terrible design flaw that prevents it from being modified by inbox bootloaders.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro strap is firmly connected to the lugs. The tire does not flex or move freely, preventing it from remaining stable on a level loading dock. The watch is tilted away from the truck bed. This makes it incompatible with almost every wireless charger available, including the Wireless Charger Duo that Samsung gave away to buyers in some markets as a pre-order gift.

This flaw in Samsung's design means users need to find some home remedies. It is best to place the Charger Duo end down on a table. You can then place the watch over this part so that the strap hangs from below. But those who only have a bootable disk in the package are still out of luck. This is where the new charging station comes into play. There is enough space under the raised surface to let the watch strap hang freely. Samsung seems to have been inspired by a user who created an identical high-end charger to charge their Galaxy Watch 5 pro.

The new wireless charging pad is available now in the UK. It's silver and costs £20 domestically. Samsung comes with a charging adapter. Therefore, you will have to use the existing one or buy a new one separately. The company says the charger is compatible with the Galaxy Watch Series 2 and later versions.
