Price: Rs 44,999 (Bluetooth option)

Exclusive to the Android operating system, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is a high-end smartwatch launched by Samsung this year. With a titanium case and 3 days battery backup, it costs Rs 44,999. But if you're looking for something affordable, check out the Samsung Galaxy Watch5.

Handsome

The design of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro stands out above the rest: although it is designed for outdoor adventures, it lacks a sporty aspect. On the other hand, the elevated body and always-on display make it look like a smartwatch.

This watch is only available in a 45mm case. It features an ultra-bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display with 450 x 450 pixels in a titanium body with sapphire glass for rugged, rugged use. Completing the look is a new soft silicone D-clasp sport band that doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. And unlike most silicone bands, including Apple's, where my wrists start to sweat, this band doesn't. Weighing 46.5 grams, I feel comfortable wearing it longer.

The band can be adjusted by opening the buckle, adjusting the fit and locking. And while the locking buckle didn't feel too tight, it didn't come off once during the month of testing.

No rotating bezel

Samsung got rid of the physical rotating bezel this year. The only way to interact with the watch is via the touchscreen and the two side buttons. One on top is the home button and the other is the back button. Press the home button once to return to the default watch face. Application shortcuts can be assigned to the Home button. My favorite is double tapping Maps and Google Assistant by long pressing the home button.

The best of all worlds:

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro only works with Android devices using the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app. What I love about this watch is the ability to add third-party watch faces which make it even more stylish.

Even though the watch runs on Google Wear OS, it has the best apps from Google Apps and Samsung. This list includes Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play Store and more. Samsung Stable features Samsung Pay, Samsung Messages, Samsung Health, Bixby, and other Samsung apps. The interface is convenient: swipe down to access shortcuts, swipe up to access apps, swipe left on the home screen for notifications, and swipe right for quick access to app tiles. The smartwatch successfully displays notifications for calls, emails and more.

Fitness in the head:

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Pro 5, like most smartwatches on the market, tracks key statistics and motivates you to live a healthier life. Starting with the basics, step count tracking is accurate. For the past month, I have been using my watch to log my morning walks and runs. All data, including time, distance and heart rate zone, can be accessed easily at the touch of a button. You also get route tracking for frequent cyclists and walkers, but you also have to import GPX training routes from your smartphone to your watch and sync your route lists.

Apart from tracking workouts, it also measures body composition and displays body fat percentage, BMI, fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, and more. To do this, place your middle and ring fingers on the two BMI measurement buttons in sync with the smart scale reading.

While it's a bit of a pain to wear to sleep (I'm used to keeping my hands under my head), this watch can track sleep data. I found the correct sleep data. The Samsung Watch5 Pro can also detect snoring by firmly holding the paired smartphone.

One of the major drawbacks is that the ECG feature is not yet available on this smartwatch in India.

Long battery life:

Having a smartwatch means having additional devices that need to be charged every day. Not with the Galaxy Watch Pro 5, as I got almost three days of battery life on a single charge. That's impressive considering the bright screen and constant notifications.

Indictment:

If you're looking for a smartwatch that you can wear to work every day and be your companion on adventures, look no further. The stunning glass design, outdoor activity tracking and 3-day battery life make the Galaxy Watch5 Pro perfect. And for those wondering if it's better than the Apple Watch Series 8 or Apple Watch Ultra, there's no contest. The Samsung Watch5 Pro only works with Android smartphones, while the Apple Watch works with iPhones.
