How To Change The Time On A Fitbit Tracker Or Smartwatch
Want to know how to change the time on your Fitbit? Fortunately, you don't have to do this very often, as fitness trackers naturally need to register with your phone to give you an accurate time through the app.
But as with technology, sometimes things don't go as planned. While Fitbit offers some great features like fitness, sleep and stress tracking, the watch is probably one of the most useful.
If you've just bought one of the best Fitbits and are having trouble setting it up, changed time zones and it still hasn't updated, or want to show a different time on your watch, these are all the steps you need. Change the time on your tracker or Change smartwatch.
How to change the time on Fitbit
1. Sign in to the Fitbit app
For all Fitbit models, the app is the first port of call when you want to change the time on your device.
If you haven't downloaded it yet, you can download it for free from your phone's app store. Once connected to your phone, you'll need to set it up in your Fitbit app for the device to sync. Once synced, you should be able to see a summary of the day so far and statistics for the night. However, keep in mind that if you've only worn your smartwatch or tracker for a few hours, it's unlikely to be anything. Look at the drop-down panel at the top of the screen. This will confirm that it is synced with your Fitbit app.
2. Click on your profile
After making all the settings in the app, click on the profile icon on the left side of the screen. It will be the same whether you have a new Fitbit or an older model, so don't worry about model differences when learning how to change the time on your Fitbit.
3. Scroll down to Application Settings
If you scroll to the bottom of your profile, you will see the "Settings" section. Here you'll find a few options - these are the software settings you need because Fitbit controls the device through the app. Unfortunately, it is not possible to manually change the time on Fitbit without the app.
4. Time zone
Select the time zone option in the application settings. You can't manually change the time zone you're in alone, and you can also change the time zone you're currently in instead of automatically syncing Fitbit to your phone's time zone. When it comes to choosing between Fitbit Premium and Free, you can choose between the two.
5. Change the time zone manually
Tap the transition from green to gray. This tells the app that you want to manually set your Fitbit's time zone. From there, select the required time zone from the drop-down list below the Time Zone button below.
After selecting the desired time zone, return to the main screen and re-sync your device with the app. When you're done, your Fitbit time should reflect the time zone you selected.
How do I change to a 12-hour or 24-hour clock?
On the app's main screen, known as the Today tab, tap your profile again, just like you did when you changed your Fitbit time, with the Fitbit logo in the bottom left corner of the bottom bar. You need to click on the program settings as before, but this time click on the "Show clock" button. Here you can choose whether you want a 12-hour clock or a 24-hour clock. Once you've made your selection, go back to the main screen and sync your device again.
If you have a fitness tracker like the Fitbit Charge 5 or a smartwatch like the Versa 4, you can enable this feature on both.
We all have our preferences when it comes to telling the time, and Fitbit understands this, so you can switch between the standard 12-hour and 24-hour clock presets as often as you like.
