Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Vs 5 Pro: Whats The Difference?
In previous years, Samsung watches had obvious and visible design flaws, but this is not the case with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 family.
The Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro look very similar, and there is no classic model that looks more like an analog watch. What's the difference between them?
At least this part is easy. Despite the fact that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is clearly better in some ways, the difference in price means it's no easy task for buyers.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 vs 5 Pro: price
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro costs about 60% more than the cheapest $449 Galaxy Watch 5.
You pay $329 for the 44-inch Watch 5 or $279 for the smaller 40mm version. However, all three models have been selling for much lower prices than this, even in Samsung's store, so take a closer look before you buy.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 vs 5 Pro: Design
Since there is no classic model this year, the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro look very similar. This smartwatch doesn't try to mimic a regular analog watch, although you can certainly use a watch in this style.
The standard Galaxy Watch 5 comes in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, while the Samsung Pro model is only available in 45mm.
However, there are only two screen sizes: 1.2 and 1.4 inches. So, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is actually the thickest and least thin of the three, even though it's the most expensive.
However, it has a higher build quality, with a titanium outer shell instead of aluminum. Titan is stronger. This metal is often used as a lighter alternative to steel, but since none of these watches use steel, the Pro is also the heaviest of the three, at 46g.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 vs 5 Pro: Battery life
Battery life is why some of you may have to settle for the larger edge of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. It packs a 590mAh battery, which is large by smartwatch standards.
It has even more capacity than the Apple Watch Ultra's 542mAh. Samsung rates it at 80 hours, just under 3.5 days. While it doesn't come close to the lifespan of smaller smartwatches with fitness trackers, it does go a long way toward solving the battery headaches of classic smartwatches.
Samsung rates the other two Galaxy Watch 5 models at 40 hours. However, the 44mm version will give you much longer battery life than the 40mm version. As in the past, some of you will find that Samsung's smallest watch only lasts a day on a single charge. It sucks.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 vs 5 Pro: Specifications
All Samsung Galaxy Watch 5s use the same sensors and basic hardware features. However, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has some extras.
These are 'Return', 'Training Routes' and 'Turn-by-Turn Navigation'. They allow the Samsung Galaxy Watch Pro to compete a little more directly with something like the Garmin Fenix
You can download GPS files to your watch to track walking and running routes without Wi-Fi or any other form of Internet connection. Track Back also allows you to return to the starting point along the route already traveled.
What are gpx files? This is a file that contains GPS waypoints, a digital way to save travel routes, and so on. There are websites and phone apps that can help you create them.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro doesn't offer true offline maps, but these extra features make the watch more popular with outdoor fitness enthusiasts.
